The Egyptian Army. It is announced that Earl Nortlibrook proposes the abolition of the present standing army in Egypt, and that in its place there should be maintained a force of nine thousand police. The Egyptian Government, it is understood, are opposed to Lgrd Northbrook's scheme.
[Received October 8, 1 p.m.j The New South Wales Loan. Loxuov, October 7. Tenrlpi's for tho New South Wales loan of five and a half millions at 3\ percent, and minimum £92, won; opened to-day. The total amount offered was found to be £13,700,000 Tender-, at £93 12s Del will receive 55 per cent of allotment, and those above that price in full.
