T^EFENCE DEPARTMENT. Rations. WRITTEN SEALED TENDERS in duplicate will be received by Lieut.Colonel Readei, Commissioner, Armed Constabulary, Wellington, up to Monday, the 13th October, ISS4, for the supply of Rations to the Colonial Forces and others m the Kawhia District for the twehe months ending 31st diiy of October, 1885. Specifications can be seen at the Police Stations, New Plymouth, at Defence Store, Auckland, and Constabulaily Offices, Kihikihi, Alexandra and Kawhia. Each tender to be accompanied by a cheque for (£25) twenty-five pounds sterling, made payable to the Receiver General only, and not to bearer, and marked by a Banker as good for twenty-one days, as a guarantee that the tender will be taken up. The successful tenderer will require to find two suieties, to be appioved by the Defence Minister, of (£250) two hundred ai d fifty pounds each, for the due performance of the contract.
