London, September 12. THEjericlcet match, Australians v. South of England, resulted to-day in a victory for the visitors by five ruus with au innings to spare. The fiist innings of the Australians closed for 163. The home team required 108 to a\ crt a one innings defeat, but in their second innings were only able to secure 102, and the visitors thus won as already stated. The attendance on the ground to-day was good.
[PREBS ASSOCIATION.] London, September 12. I After the match against the South of England, which was the last on the programme of the Australian cricketers, the leading cricketers of England, together with a number of colonists, met at the Oval, and in bumpers of champagne drank farewell to the visitors. Lord Harris, leferring to the visit, spoke of its benefit to the cricketing world, and he hoped before long they would have another visit from the Australians. He congratulated the team on their success, and promised them that when they again came home they would be heartily welcomed. Mr Murdoch replied in suitable terms, and thanked the English people tor the courtesy which had been extended to himself and brotlier cricketeis.
