THE WRECK OF THE LASTINGHAM. [BY TELEGRAPH.-PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
Wellington, Thursday. The purchaser of the hull and caigo of the ill-fated ship Lastingham, intends forming a joint stock company, with a capital of £2000 in £10 shares. A representative of the proposed company left for the scene of the wieck to-day. It is understood that the companies forniinc the Marine Insurance Association have agreed to pay all claims against them in connection with the loss of the Lastingham to-moitow.
Friday. The following officer have this day dischaiged claims in connection with the respective losses on the merchandise per Lastinghain : —National, £G')00 ; Colonial, £2800; South Butish, £4.170; Victoiia, £1700; New Zealand, £390; Standard, £385 ; Universal, £457.
