Tun members of tiie Hamilton Choral Society gave a concoi t at the Public- Hall, Hamilton, last night The attendance was \e>y small, w liich consideiing the cffbits put forth by the society is much to be icgietted. The conceit, fiom a musical puint of \ iew, was successful. The choi uses went veiy well, and the solos were very much appreciated, while the instrumental pieces weie warmly leccived. Mr 801 l filled the part ot conductor with his usual ability and the pianoforte accompaniments were most efficiently rendered by Miss Newell. The following was the programme : — Part I Pianoforte duet " Fairy Queen ;'' Miss W. Murray and Mr Bell ; choius, " May Day;" song, "Ever of thee," Mi Burnand ; song, " Too Late,' 1 Miss XV. Murray ; Pianofoite solo, -' Luciezia Borgia," Miss Sandes ; song, "TheSla\c's> Dream," Mr H. Kgecnmbe; duct, "Hymn to the Night,"MissesE. and XV. Muiray ; song, " The Heart of my Nor.ili," Mis Murray ; choius, "Good Night." Part 11. Pianoforte duet, " Mattei's waltz," Miss Lyon and Miss Sandes ; pait song, " Fair Katie," fcong, "A Vision," Miss Mary McPheison ; song, " The dear littlo Shamrock," Mr 0. Hunter ; song, " A Summer Shower," Miss E. Muiray; song, "The Holy Fiiar," (encoreil) Mr H. Edgcumbe ; quartette, " Absensc, " Misses E. and XV. Murray, Messis H. Binnand and .T. S. Edgcumbe ; pait song, " U who will o'er the Downs j"' finale, " God save the Queen."
