S. ANDREW'S CHURCH SOCIAL GATHERING.
A social gathering in connection with the anniversary of the dedication of the above church was held in the Public Hnll, Cambridge, on Tuesday evening, and was attended with much success There was a large attendance of the members of the congregation and their friends from various p.uts of the distuct, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. The evening opened with a soil cc, the usual accessoiies being piovided l>y Mesdamcs J. S. Buckland, Little, Hewitt, Moon, Willis, Wells, Wilson, and Miss Reynolds. After the tables weie cleared away, a \eiy entci taining piogramme ot vocal and insttuinent.il music was entered upon. A number of well selected leadings woie icndercd, and the Yen. Ai oh deacon Dudley delivered a bnef addicts After expressing the pleasure it alfoided him to meet his Cambiidge friends once more, he suggested as a novel idea that it would be a good tiling, as tending to strengthen the tics between the colonists and the mother countty, so far as the Cambridge disttict was concerned, if the Cambridge people endoavouied to scud a lad fiom their town to the University of the same name in England. The various items on the piogramme were veil received, but only in one instance was an encore responded to. Selection, " Wedding March, ' String Baud; leading, "Snobs," Mi Dyer; piano tiio, Mis and the Misses Hill ; churns, '■ All among the barley, ' choir ; song, "The bghlhouse-kccpcr, ' Mr Sunins ; sons, " Dieam Faces,' Mis Chitty ; piano ' solo, selection fiom Fau^t, Mis Seabinou ; song "The Vagabond," Mr Ha-tley ; flute " With \eiihnc ll.hl,' Mi l).iii\eis, with piano accompaniment hy Mi?
