Wednesday. A difficulty arose in the R.M. Court in connection with commital of some of the children to the Burnhatn Industrial School. It appealed on enquiry that the children had been attending the Salvation Army meetings and the bench held that the Army had not yet obtained recognition as an institution. It was at last elicited 1 that the children at some time or other had attended the Presbyterian Church, and that faith was therefore recorded on the order. A curious accident occurred yesterday. A wheel of a cab caught in the tram rail, and was wrenched clean off, causing an ugly spill, but strange to say the driver and occupants were uninjured. Mr Henry Thomson has been appointed Grand Master for the Provincial District of Canterbury, under patent signed by R. W .Grand Master H.R.H. the Prince of Wales.
