Employers would do CSvell to forward {heir orders to us as eaily as convenient, as it enables us to secure suitable servants according to instructions. Our engagements during tho last week ha\e been : Ploughmen, £1 to 25s and found ; milkers, 15s to 20s ; youths and boys foi farms, 10s to 15s ; storemen, 35s to £3 ; clerks, £1 to £2 per week. There has been a moderate supply of women servants. The demand for general servants and housemaids continues. Engagements as follows . Housekeepers, 12s to 20s; cooks, 14s to 25s '; housemaids, 10s to 12s ; parlaurmaids, 10s to 12s.

London August 18.— Consols remained at 100g.— New Zealand securities are as follows : _The 5 per cent. 10-40 loan is 104^ : the 5 per cent. 1889 loan is 1044 ; the 4S per cent 1879-IGO4 loan is !)8& and the 4 per cent, inscribed stock is 101.— The market rate of discount has fallen lg per cwt., and is now § per cent, below the bank rate. — The market for colonial breadstuffs and tallow is without quotable change.
