Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS.

Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Weekly Report,—There has not been much alteration'in the market. The supply has not been a large one, and values have continued much the same as on tlie previous week. *Phe number entered for disposal at the Durham yards was not so large as on the previous week, but thei-e was steady competition, and purchasers for all the lots were forthcoming at late values. Wool, hides and skins : The supply was moderate, and last Tuesday's values were maintained, and 'for home lots an advance was given. Cattle : The supply has been good, with corresponding demand, but no material alteration in value was manifested. Above an average number of fat beasts were yarded at the Newmarket yards on Tuesday, but dairy and store stock were short of requirements. The Pukekohe yards on Wednesday were well filled, and the sale throughout was characterised by rapid competition, and prices satisfactory to vendors. There has been no noteworthy alteration in quotations. The Waikato averages wore: 22 steers, "Reynolds, £Bl7s ; 8 cows, Hunt, £5 12s. Sheep : There was a large muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, competition was steady, and there was a large number disposed of at a uniform rate of 16s each; while best wethers reached 22s Gd. Pigs were yarded in moderate numbers. Well - bred dairy-fed animals reached 4d per lb live weight, while rough store pigs were sold for 2d per 11). Horse stock were well represented, and good draughts sold well. They ranged in price from £2B to £4O ; medium draught, £l(s to £2O ; riding horses, from £(5 to £2O. On Tuesday fodder realised Friday's prices. Twetve sacks ryegrass seed, 5s the bushel. Hams and bacon from the Te Awamutu Factory, Sd the lb. Grown steers in fresh condition required. Other classes dull of sale. Fat cattle of good quality in request at a slight advance over last week's value?. Prices ranged from 22s to 24s the lOOlbs. LONDON, August 13.—Consols remain at 100. New Zealand securities are quoted to-day as follows :—5 per cent. 10-40 loan is 10U; o per cent. 1889 loan is 104 A ; 4$ per cent. 1879-1904 loan is 90:/; 4 per cent, inscribed stock is 101. Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 395, and New Zealand ditto at 34s to 40s. Adelaide Hour, ex store, is 275. Australian tallow of average quality. Beef is 34s Gd ; ditto mutton, 34s Gd.
