The Small-pox Scare. Auckland, Monday Night. The City Council are considering the matter of erecting a small-pox hospital. The quarantined passengers of the Wai* hoi a are enjoying excellent health.
District Court. . In the District Court to-day, in the case David Giace v. Allan McGuire, claim £100 damages for injuries sustained through defective working of a crane, the plaintiff was nonsuited. Iv the case Colebrook v. Ganson and Morton, claim £100 for damage through alleged supply of meadow grass seed instead of cocksfoot as ordered, plaintiff was nonsuited.
An Old Offender. James Ingram, charged with numerous petty larcenies, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment at the Police Court to-day.
The Comet. Mr Stevenson, F.R.A.S., writes to the Star that he has found what he believe'a to be the telescopic comet recently observed at Sydney.
