Waihato Timis Office, Wednesday. LABOUR REPORT R. M. Hkighton and Co., New Zealand Labour Exchange, 177, Queen-street, Auckland.—The business in the labour market has improved during the last week; we have supplied employers with tie following : Station managers, £75 to £100 per annum and board. Ploughmen 20s and found. Barm hands 10s to 20s ; carters, 20a and found; confectioners and bakers, 30 and found ; hotel hands, 20 and board ; married couples, £(55 to £85. We have registered on our books, clerks, storemen, general farm hands, carpenters, engineers, labourers, married couples for station and farms, and general hands. There has been a moderate supply of women servants, and a few engagements made as follows : Housekeepers, 10s to 20s ; general servants, 188 to 12 ; lady helps, 8a to 10s ; cooks, 15 ; housekeepers and lady helps are open for engagement. There is a demand for nursegirls, housemaids, cooks, parlourmaids and general servants.

MELBOURNE MARKETS. Melbourne, August 5, — The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company, New Zealand (Limited), reports of the local produce markets a<3 follows : — Wheat, 4s ; the market is weaker. Malting barley is neglected at 3s 1H to 4s 3d. New Zealand oats (feeding sorts), 2s 8d to 3s ; prices are depressed. Milling ditto, 3s Id to 3s 2d. The market is, weaker for New Zealand oats under bond, which is steady at 2s 2d to 2s sd. The timber market is unchanged.
