News of General Gordon.— His reported escape.- Sympathy with the Mahdi in Arabia.— Reported rising. Cairo, July 30. A report is now current that General Gordon ha 3 been able to advance from Khartoum, and, having defeated the rebels on the line of march northwards, has reached Berber, and occupied it. Loxdon, July 31. The Daily News iv its issue this morning publishes a telegram saying thafc a serious rising has occurred in the southwest province of Yemen, on the Red Sea coast of Arabia. The Arab insurgents have declared themselves followers of the Mahdi, and mustered in great force, Sava, the capital of the province, yielded to them, and they also captured several towns and villages. The Governor of ihe province found himself entirely unable to > cope with the insurgents, and ' the Porte '.has despatched a force of 10,000 troops .to restore order. - , j - , ;
