npO THE ELECTORS OF WAIPA.

A rumour has been spread here that I intend retiring in favour of Mr Wliitaker at

the end of the Session. Those who know

me will not need any contradiction from me, but for the satisfaction of those who do not, I wish to say that it is entirely false. E. LAKE. Raghn, July 21st, 1884. 'pO THE ELECTORS OF WAIPA. Do not be deceived by Mr Hay s advertisement in Saturday's Timks. No such promulgations have been issued cither by Mr Lake, his committee or suppprters. Had Major Jackson's committee leally looked on electioneciing dodges as things of the past, this notice would not be requited. No reflection upon the learned, zealous, imaginative Secretary is intended. JOHN FISHER, Chairman of Mr Lake's Committee.

q^O IHE ELECTORS OF WAIPA. The report appealing in The Waikato Times of my Hamilton meeting might lead people to suppose that I would not, if returned, definitely support the present Government, I am pledged to give them my vote, and support to keep them on the Treasury benches. _____ WM__JACKSON._ rpO THE ELECTORS OF WAIPA. It having come to the knowledge of Major Jackson's Hamilton friends that his utterances in pubiic and private will be grossly misieprcscnted in the Press, and by chculais and placaids, by impolitic supporters of Mr Lake, at a time too late for public denial before the polling-day, ELECTORS are earnestly cautioned against giving any ciedence to promulgations not bearing Major Jackson's signature. Major Jackson looks upon unworthy electioneering dodges as things of the past, and declines to resoit to them. No reflection upon Mr Lake or the capable, zealous, and much-experienced manager of his election is intended. WM. MACGREGOR HAY, Hon Sec. Hamilton Committee. Hamilton, July IS, ISS4.
