MELBOURNE CUP, 1884. Adam Bede is now forming a serieb of companies on the above great event. 2,000 investors at £1 each. To be divided as follows : —First hor3e, £1000 ; second horse, £200 ; third horse, £100 ; other .starters (divided), £300; non-htarters (divided), £400. Total, £2000. It is particularly requested that early application for Shares will, lie made, as each list will be drawn soon as filled. Results will be forwarded to subsciibors immediately after drawing, and the next list proceeded with. Any subset ibtr drawing a horse in any list will be allowed, if he so de&ires it, to invest in the following list any hum not exceeding Three Pounds without remitting any fuither cash this amount to bo ultimately deducted from prize money. The acceptances for this race are declared in August.
