CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN BOARD.
The adjourned meeting of the abow board was held at the town boaid office, Catnbiidge, on Tuesday morning. Present: Messrs Wellt, (in the chaii), Kirk wood, Walker and Hewitt. The business of the meeting was to receive Mi 1 Purdie's report ie beautifying the lake. Fkncixi; in Portion ok Tiioknto.n Road.— The Chairman explained to the meeting that tin 1 town bo.iid <it its meet ing on the previous evening had conceded to the board permission to ience in about 30ft. of the Thornton load, light along the entire lake reserve, ingiess to the enclosure to be given by turnstiles. Draining Allotments.— Mi- Thomas Ireland wrote re the diainage of his allotment. — On the motion of the ohairinan it was agreed "That the board find tlie necessaiy Gin. pipes, piovided the work is done to the satisfaction of the board. A Gratuitous Oki-lr. — Mr E. B. Walker and Mr Hairbin oiler, d 100 h Pinus Insignia each for the use of the > board to be planted on the domain reserve. * Mr Purdii.V. Hh'ort. — Mr Pm die's report on the lmpiovemcnts to Lake Te Koutu reserve having been lead was unanimously appio\cd of.- On the motion of Mr Walker it was agieed to call for tendcts for fencing and dealing the lake re&enc, tender^ to close on Saturday, the 19th. —Mr Piudie oileied to do a ceitain poition of the woik foi '£100, but the boaid prcfened employing him by the week. f ; Improvements Committi.i;. — It was Unanimously agiced that a committee consisting of Mes»is Khkwood. Hewitt, and the chauman be foimcd to superin- » tend the impio\ement-> on the lake pro perty, and that they be authorised to purchase such sin übs and tiees and to lay out such woik as they with Mt Purdie may think advisable, the whole expenditnie to be kept as neaily as possible within £123. — On the motion of Mi Kirkwood it was agiced that Mr Piudie ""be retained at a salary of 7">s per week. This was all the business.
