Total 05 Total for 7 wkts ..111 London, July 12. (3 p.m.) The cricket match at Manchester was resumed this morning. According to latsst telegrams to hand the first innings of the Australians closed for 182, being 87 ahead of the English team. The following is the remainder of the scores : — Australians, first innings : Midwinter, caught, 37 ; Palmer, not out, 14 ; Spofforth, caught, 13 j'Boyle, bowled, 4 ; extras, 6 ; total, 181. [Received July 14th, noon.] London, July 12. The cricket match, Australians v. All England, "was resumed at Manchester this morning in fine weather, and before a large attendance of people. The Australians with 7 wickets down continued their first innings. Midwinter, not out on the previous day, only added 8 to the score, when he was caught. Palmer and ( Spofforth made a ' short stand, ' bW the ' latter succumbed when'he had 'contributed 13. _ - [ » -went in for their second innings which' lasted until time was called, when they had scored 180 with 9 wickets down, the match thus ending in a draw. The most of the batsmen secured double figures the following being thej highest scores :— Grace, b 31, Barlow, b 23, Steele, c 18, Lucas, b 24, Shrewsbury, not out, 13, OBrien, c 20. The bowling of the Australians throughout the afternoon was excellent and dead on the wicket.
