'po THE ELECTORS OF WAIPA. Gentlemen, — In view of what has re cently taken place, and feeling that it is due to my many kind supporters throughout the electorate, I propose to deliver an address in the Public Hall, Hamilton West, on Wednesday, July IGth, at 7.30 p.m. F. A. WHITAKER.

rpor p0 THE ELECTORS of WAIKATO.

Auckland, July, 9th 18S4. Gi:n'TJ,hmi:n, — 1 regiet excedmgly that the state of my health will prevent my visiting the various centres of population and addressing you previous to the day of nomination. I have, however, eveiy leason to believe that before the meeting of (she New Pailiainent my health will be sufficiently restoied to enable me to attend to your interests in Wellington should you again think piopei to send me there as your icpiesentative. As icgauls the politics of the past my views are pretty well known to you by my actions, with only two recent excep^ tions vu. : tnc defeat of the Government and the question of the Honorarium. Asiegaids the fust, I had decided to stand by my old fiiends who, notwithstanding their many faults, had served the country faithfully and weie in my opinion infinitely to be prcfeired to an Opposition the various sections of which could only combine for the purpose of tinning out the Government, not for cai tying on the busiucsb of the countiy. As legaids the Honorarium, I think you all know me sufficiently well to lcndei any statement upon that subject unnecessaiy. Upon the politics of the futuie I hope to be able to address you on or before the day of nomination. Meanwhile it will pei haps suffice to say that I intend to arcord Major Atkinson a geneial support as on the whole the safest guide which the colony has at present at its disposal.— l am, youis Faithfully. J. B. WHYTE.

THO THE ELECTORS OF WAIPA. Gcntlkmls', — Having been lequestcd by a luge number of fiiends to contest the ensuing election in the Government inteiest, I have the honour to offer myself as your representative in the next Pailiainent.
