CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above board was held at the board office yesteiday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Piesent : Cis. T. Wells (chairman), Clark, Richaidson and Hewitt. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Deficiency of tke Pound. — The poundkeeper wrota informing the board that a horse had escaped from the pound, owing to some person tampering with the lock. The fence was also insecure. — It was agreed to repair the fence. Unregistered Dogs. — The clerk said, lespecting the resolution passed at last meeting to the effect that all owners of unregistered dogs should be proceeded against, that on the following morning all defaulting owneis had registered thencanine properties. He now knew of no unregistered dogs in the district. The Railway Goods Sued.— The Chairman referred to the present inconvenient site of the goods shed at the Cambridge terminus. He could uot understand why this shed should have been erected where it is. It should be on the town side of the line. This save the domain board having to give a road between the line and the bank of the Lake. — Cr. Richardson thought the shed should be at the church end of the railway grounds. — It was agreed, after after discussion, that a deputation of the whole board should meet Mr Whyte on his coming visit to Cambridge, anal ask him to exert himself towards having the shed shifted to a site on the other side "of the line. Domain Improvements.— lt was agreed that the domain board be allowed to fence a portion of the Thornton road, including footpath, not to exceed 30ft., the fence to extend along the entire length of the Lake reserve, an opening for the public to be made at each end of the enclosure. Mr Bond's Boards. — An application was received from Mr <T. S. Bond, asking permission to erect a number of advertising boards on several sites throughout the town. — Application granted. Applications for Gravel. — Applications for permission to take gravel .were received from Mr T. B. Lewis, Mr D. Carnachan, and the Waikato Shipping dompany. — Some dutassion ensued as to where gravel ghonld be taken from in future. It was thought that the time had arrived when so s n^ better arrangement for the supply of gravel to the public should be made. — It was agreed that the Minister for Lapds be written to, asking him to have' allotments 548, 533, 578, and 579 set aside as gravel reserves.— On 'the jhotipnof Cr.
