MELBOURNE CUP, 1884. Adam Bede is now forming a series of companies on the above great event. 2,000 investors at £1 each. To be divided as follows :— First horse, £1000 ; second hoiso, £200 : thiid horse, £100 ; other starters (divided), £300 ; non-starters (divided), £400. Total, £2000. It is particularly requested that early application for Shiuea will, he made, as each list will bcdr.iwn soon ab filled. Results will be forwarded to subsci ibors immediately after drawing, and the ne,\t list proceeded with. Any hubsciibtr drawing a horse in any list will be allowed, if he so desires it, to invest in the following list any sum not evceedine: Three Pounds \\ ithout remitting any fmtliercashthisaniount to b« ultimately deducted from prize money. The acceptances for this race are declared in August. ADAMASTOR'S SPECIAL PRIZE OF £50. A Special Prize of £50 will be given to the first Shareholder of 4 Tickets, or more, who names the first three horses in their respective places. A register will be kept of the date each Tipster's letter is received, and the fiist correct Tipster will receive this Special Prize. Each shareholder of not less than 4 tickets is entitled to a tip ; of 8 tickets, 2 tips, and so on for each and every 4 tickets.
