Mr Gladsto>e wiU in the House of Commons to flay, make a statement as to the intention of Government in view of the rejection of the Franchise Bill by the House of Lords. The belief is generally current, ami is hourly being sttengthened, that Gjvcnunenfc have decided to iutioduce the measure afresh at a special session to be held in the autumn.

It has transpired that at a meeting of the members of the Liberal party to-day Mr Gladstone announced tli.it the present session would end shortly, and Pailiament be re-assembled in October for the purpose of again passing the Franchise Bill through the House ot Commons, and submitting it to the House of Lords.
