Gentlemen,— Having been requested by a large number of friends to contest the ensuing election in the Government interest, I have the honour to offer myself as your representative in the next Parliament. I would give a general support to the policy of the present Government, including the Native Land Bill, and would do my utmost to secure the completion ot the through North Island Railway, which I consider an absolute necessity.
