Nomination Western Maori District. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Tb Awamutu, Monday. The nomination of native members took place to-day at the court-house. The following eight were nominated : — Henare Kaihau, Haraiora Mangakahia, Mita Karaka Ngatipare, Meiha Keepa Taitoko, Te Puke Te Ao, Wetre Te Rerenga, Meiha Te Wheoro, and the irrepressible Sydney Taiivhane;a. A show of hands was in favour of Henare Kaihau, and a poll was demanded by Sydney Taiwhanga, and the proposer of Hamiora Mangakahia. Major Te Wheoro and Major Kemp, of Wanganui, are two of the candidates. The proceedings passed off very quietly, a few remarks beiog made ouly by three of the candidates present.
Messrs Clark and Ganc announce that having disposed of their stores to the Co-operarive Association they have relinquished business^ and request a settlement of accounts. Mr C. J. W. Bartan notifies that his connection with the N.N.Z.F. Co-operative Association ceased on the 21st June.
