Mr Alpkbd Buckt-ani>'s Wkbklt Report.—At the Haymarket, on Friday last, fodder was in Rood supply, ranged from 2a 9d to 53 the cwt ; maize of good quality, 4* Id per bushel ; whilst that badly cared for, beiug very heated, realised 2s Bd. Oats met with a ready sale at 2s f)d ; oaten chaff, £3 10j, the ton. Horses wore yarded n good numbers, and of a bettor cl.iss^ than of Lite, beary draught ranging from £27 to £51 ; keen competition being evinced for the superior animals, Light harness horses were in steady enquiry at recent values. At Tuesday's h.iYmarket fodder maintained former rates. Hides and skins weie pitched in good quantity, showing an increase on previous sales. Prices were firm at recent values— viz., Bid to 3Jd— and were well sought for ; skins (butchers), 2s lOd ; station, Is 9d to 2s 7d each ; pelts, Is Id to la 3d. Tallow still kept pace with past prices, 2(>s to 27s Gd. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows were scarce, but those offered sold freely at prices from £5 to £11. The supply of beef was somewhat short of the demand, consequently fat cattle i,old freely at 25s the lOOlbs. Some of the averages were : Jno. Short, 10 steers, £11 ; A. Bruce Suttor, 1(> steer*, £15) 10s Cd; Edw. Allen, 8 steers, £U 3s; J. Taylor; 8 steers, £9 15s ; N, Hunt, 8 steers, £9 ; Grice and Parker, 8 steers, £8 2s Gd, 8 cows, £0 2s Gd ; Jno. Mkssks Huni-kb and Nolans Wekklt Repokt.— Horses : The demand has been rather slack, and but few good animals have been broxight forward. There was no alteration in value worthy of note. At the Durham Yards on Vriday, about the usual number were entered, and although several times during the sale, bidding was languid, most of th» lots weie cle ired. Theio was baiely an aveiage number y.uded at Newmarket on Tuesday, and a little above that quantity at Papakma, showing an improvement as compared with the midwinter last year both as to quality and price. l)airy cows continued at lenmnerative prices to vendms. Stoic steers were insufficient for requhement, and if in fiesh condition command advanced rates. Theie was no advance in the average price of beef, but good oxen sold as high a^ £12 15s, and cows £7 10=,, but insufficiently fatted were relatively lower.
