The first meeting of the Conference on Egyptiou aff.ina was held to day. The proceedings were chiefly of a formal natute. The representatives of the Biitish Government, however, laid before the Conference certain proposals in connection with Egyptian finances, which* will be considered to-morrow by a committee of financial experts. The proposals of the British Government embody a reduction of the Unified Preference Loan against and English guarantee of £8,000,000.
