According; to Mr Mifcchekon'o promise tliii railway should be open for traffic about the (!th July, and if wo are to goby piesent appeal cinces we do not think the opening will be fiu behind time. The mils have now been laid to the Chinch of England coiner, but the ballasting i\oik is yet a mile 01 so wanting. The conti.ictois complain of the delay which ha.s been cau.scfl by the Goveinnient, not having a pioper supply of material to go on with and considei th.it only for this, they v> ould have had the laying of the rails completed over a month ago. The beginning of next week should s>ee the line complete right through. Th<\conti actor for the station buildiuga has the "Cambridge building-, ahnobt leady foi bei\ ice, and expects to have them finished well within confciacfc time. Tlie T.un.ilieic, Hautapu, and ]°en Comt station-, will howe\ei. be over a month behind the contiact time as they have not yet been commenced.
