On the motion of Major Atkinson the House went into Committee of Ways and Means. _ Mr Montgomery criticised the Treasurers figures, and claimed that Major day for doing good had closed. After being) five years in office pledged co economy he had done absolutely nothing. Mr Holme? described the Financial Statement as a financial Chinese puzzle. The Treasurer replied, defending his financial administration, and on the motion of Sir George Grey the House adjourned till Monday at 11 a.m.
