Who Wear Tight Boots ?
Men are always talking of our vanity — our tight waists, our tight shoes, etc Well, women certainly do wear tight corsets ; men, however, carry off the palm as to tight boots. Proof positive is offered in the fact that the average head of a household bellows for his slippers the moment he enters his own door, and expects his wife to get them for him, too. The torture of those boots worn to attract the admiration of the fair sex abroad can not be endured ten minute 3 in the domestic circle. Moreover, observe carefully those men whom you pass in the street, and you will notice upon their boots perfect little round mould's of many corns, which, being the highest points, takes the best polish from 1 the bootblack's brush. People who wear loose shoes don't have corns, do they ? No. So there, now, don't talk any more about our vanity. — M.X.D., in New York Ledger.
