THE KIHIKIHI SCHOOL.

The following letter has been forwarded to tbe-Boa^ipf -Education s- ?>% iKikikihi, Jtfne, 12th, 1884. Siu; I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of, your letter of tho 4th inst., and \n reply ,thereto I append resolutions passed by this committee at a meeting held on the evening of the 9th, which is as follows :— " That this committee, also all tho parents and householders (excepting two) of this district, being exceedingly well satishud with Mr Nicholson as a teacher, do not intend to allow him to be removed ; this being the case, we have nothing to say to the recommendation of Mr Kennedy being appointed as teacher for this school. In any case, we do not think Mr Kennedy suitable. His testimonials arc in our opinion ' poor 1 ; besides, his license to teach expiied labt October. We also notice that he has not passed any examination in New Zealand, which, in our opinion, he should have done. Otherwise, his license to teach would not have been made for only two years ; in fact, would not require a license." lam also requested to add that this committee aie exceedingly sorrj attheappaicntdetermination of your board to remove Mr Nicholson, contrary to the wish of this committee, and of the parents and householders of this district, for serious complications w ill assuicdly arise. With all due respect, we consider ourselves better judges in this matter than either your boatdor Mr O'Sullinn, on whose recommendation, we understand, your board contemplates Mr Nicholsons removal. -I am>&C " W.H.Graok, Chairman Kihikihi School Committee.
