RESIDENT MAGISTRATES COURT, CAMBRIDGE.
Friday.— (Before Mr H. W. North- - croft, R.M.,) THE ATTACK ON THE SHERIFF. Onepit Tairi and Rangarnia- the two women who attacked Major Green when Reizing a horse under warrant, the property of Kauwhata were called. On the application of Mr Keesirig, who appeared for Mi Hay, the case was remanded for eight days. The police considered the offence a serious one, and thought bail should be required for the leappearance of accused. Bail granted, £25 in each case.
Civil Cases. A COSTLY TOK. Httchins v. Jones. — Claim, 17s for goods. Mr Keesing for plaintiff. The defendant said his missus had sent the plaintiff 10s on account but he refused to accept that amount. lie (plaintiff) had guauinteed to fit his missus' tour times but failed on each successive occasion Mrs Jones had an abnoi mal toe which 1 equired a special effort on the part of Mr liitchins to encompass. Admitted that though the boots did not tit he retained them in use. Mr Jones testified to the correctness of her husband's version. His Worship cave judgment for plaintiff for amount with costs, £1 5s 6d. Plaintiff pleaded his inability to pay more t h an Is a week. This was all the business.
