FATAL ACCI DENT.

+ Wk take the following from the Auckland Herald :— A sad accident took place on Monday afternoon, at Parnell, whereby Mr W. Jones, baker, of Upper Syinondstreet, lost his life. Mr Jones was out driving his b.iker's cut, but as the home whs rostive, took a young man named J. Wain wright with him. Wainwright went to a house to deliver btead, and 01^ coming out saw Mr Jones at the horse's head, holding the reins and endeavouring to stop it. He was enabk- to do so ; was thrown down, and the wheel passed over his head, occasioning fracture of the skull, and other mortal injuries. Dr. Wright was a ion in attondanco, but as there was no possibility of recovery, he recommended the removal of the unfortunate young man to the Hospital, where ho expired about five p.m., having remained in a state of unconsciousness. Deceased had only attained his majority, and was single. An inquest was held yesterday at the Hospital by Dr. Philson, Coroner. The evidence was simply corroborative of the above facts, and the jury returned a verdict of " Accidental Deceased was a son of Mr William Jones, one of the oldest residents of Hamilton, and was woll known to the resir donts of that town. His untimely end has caused general regret, and much sympathy is felt for his parents in thoir bereavement.
