[Received June 9, 11.30 a.m. 1 Admiral Hewitt's Mission.— Re-in-forcements for Suakim. Cairo, June 8. Intelligence is to hand from Mashowah that Admiral Hewitt, who is now on a Bpeci.il mission in Abyssinia, has been well received by King John. There is every prospect of the mission being successful. In consequence of the presence of a large body of Arab rebels under Osman Digna in the neighbourhood of Suakim, further reinforcements, compttsingall the British Marines a\ailable at Poit Said, and another batalliou of Egyptian regulars ai*e under orders to proceed there without delay. Intelligence lias been received that Berber, an important town on the Nile, north of Khartoum, has fallen into the hands of the rebels after a brief struggle, and they are now in full possession. A portion of the Egyptian ganison surrendered their arms, and went over to the assailants, and the remainder who declined to yield, were killed to a man.
