Bigamy. A bigamy case will be introduced at tho Police Court to-morrosv morninp. Edith Ellcu Norman will be charged with feloniously marrying William Brinsden, painter and decorator, Auckland, on the •J4th July, 1880, her first husband, Robert Dunn, seaman, being still alive, and to whoiii she was lawfully married on the 16th October. Her husband has just come into port, in the expectation of claiming the bride of his youth, like Enoch Ardon, and finds her the wife of another. Hence he bagan the prosecution.

Creditors' Meeting. At a meeting of Hitchen's creditor's today, an offer of 7s (id in the £ wa3 submitted. A mnjoiifcy of the creditors were in favour of accepting it, but it was resolved not to t.\ko action until Mr Nathan had been consulted.

Th 3 Trunk Railway. The Stai's special correspondent telegraphs from Wellington that the statement in yesterday's Auckland Herald that the Government has positively resolved to recommend the central route for the North Island Trunk Railway has created considerable amusement here. Mr Mitchelson only commenced to write his leport on the central and western routes this morning, and as this will occupy him several days, the matter will not come before the Cabinet for decision till Tuesday or Wednesday next. Until Ministers have tli.it report before them they certainly will not come to any decision. As soon a3 the House decides on the line, Mr MitcheUoti will be prepared to let contracts at both ends, irrespective of winch route is chosen. The working plans for any of the routes are not yet completed, hit as the Government purpose, letting the line in ton-mile sections, the first contract will be ready for letting a month after the decision of the House. Mr Mitchelson will report that the eastern or Napier route is quite out of the question.
