DUNEDIN, Thursday.
At the sale ot Mr Dodson's stud today, the entire CissiveLumus was sold for 120 guineas to Mr J. F. Kitching. To-d.xy has been very boisteious and cold, with snow storms. Fiiday. Tlie ship Lyttelton, which anived to day, has two torpedo boats for the New Zealand Government. The hulls of the vessels measure 63 feet in length, with a bread tli of beam of 7 ieet 6 inches. They are entuely built of steel, and as they have no decks they will present a very peculiar appearance. For the entire length fioin bow towards the stem they are co\ered with a kind of turtle-back loof, which gives protection to the crew and increases the engine space. There is a small tower of steel above, while on a flat roof will be mounted a NorJenfeldt gun. The boats have two funnels, and on the forward part will be placed the toipedo, which will be worked by means of a tackle. Nicevor's torpedo will be used.
