[Received April 30, 2.15 p.m.] Oxford and Female Education. London, April 29. The council of the University of Oxford has passed a resolution, approving of the admission of women- to examinations for University honours.
Cholera in England. London, April 29. The troopship Crocodile has arrived at Portsmouth with cholera on board. Six cases and three deaths having occurred since she left Suez.
Wool Sales. London, April 29. The second of the year's series of colonial wool auctions opened to-day before a large number of home and foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 97,000 baies, for which a fair demand was experienced, cross breds ruling at about closing rates of last auction. The quantity to be offered during the series is limited to 370,000 bales. The sales will close on the 18th June.
Tasmanian Loan. London, April 29. A loan of £800,000 for the Tasmaniaa Government is announced to-day. The rate of interest is 4 per cent., and ,the minimum is fixed at 98. Tenders will be opened on the 7th May.
