Cairo, April 16. Intelligence is to hand from General Gordon, dated the Bth, which reports that Sheikh Aiizier had submitted to him, and that dissension having occurred among the tiibes in Kordofan, El Mahdi lias been compelled to abandon his projected Expedition to Khartoum. General Goi don further announces that, from information that has reached him, the garrison at Kassala and Seunar are safe.
Loxdon, Apiil 17. Information has been receiv ed from General Goidou that unless he is relieved he will sttempt to retreat, as his store of ammunition is scanty. Gordon Pasha has appointed Zebehr, Assistant Governor of Khartoum.
