CO-OPERATION AND THE SPARROW PEST.
TO THK EDITOR. Sir,— l am pleased to see the progress in which the North New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association is making, and am a hearty well-wisher for its success. I see by the prospectus there are eight clauses, representing what is intended to be done. I am sorry that it does not include the small bird pe&t in one of its clauses. I think, Mr Editor, if you were to give them a gentle hint on that subject the association might deal with that nuisance with far greater advantage than the farmers can single handed. I tried for three years in succession to keep the little robbers down, but every year there seems to be getting more and more, as there are only a few beside myself who do anything in the business. Hoping that your kind efforts through the Press will prevail on them to take the matter up in good earnest this coming winfcev as it Is getting an intolerable nuisance. — I am, &0., Farmer. Pukerimu, April sth.
