There it crops out again ; the natural, educated, and hereditary greed for gold ; the insatiable thirst for wealth the pa^ion for amassing millions by the easiest and quietest methods, and leachiug a fabulous competence by the shortest ways. A Paris journalist, who lias little money as yet, but a keen wit and fever for franca, has hit on a rare plan, and believes it will sueeeed. Under the title of La France Literdirc, he publishes each week a paper which is unique in that not only does it not pay contiibiuors, but demands pay from them. To La France Literaire would-be journalist! are invited to contribute and pay so much for their literary productions, when printed with their names at the foo:, and biiid themselves to take a certain number of copies. The circulation guarantees advertising, and it professes to prosper.
