WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The directois of the Wellington-Mana-watu Railway Company have, it is understood, accepted the tender of Mi S. Brown for the construction of the Paikakanki seetion. The price is about &57.000, The Customs revenue for Wellington for the month was £20,080. For the quarter it was £64,4150s 10d. Wednesday Night. The question at issue was as to the liability of the defendant to pay o' er to the Registi ar of Joint Stock Companies the amount of a bond he had entered into on behalf of Charles White, ex-secretaiy of the Wellington Building Society. For the defence it was contended that the committee of the society had altered the rules, and so allowing Mr Wlntejto dtaw moneys without notice be ing given to the sureties.
