DUNEDIN, Wednesday.
At a meeting of persons interested in the liquor trade to day, it was decided to reorganise the Licensed Victuallers' Association, under new rules. About tifty members were enrolled. It is intended to petition next Parliament to do away with the present system of electing licensing benches and the endorsement of licenses for trivial offences, etc. At Palmerstou South, yesterday, Mr Robinson, R.M., ordered the committal for perjury of the plaintiff in the case Thomas Flynn v. Bessie Brown, in which he sought to recover £40, which he alleged had been taken from him by the " lambing-dowii process."
