Otahuhu v. Cambridge.

SECOND INNINGS. Fou the second innings Otahuhu sent in Robinson and Swanson to the bowling of Tiongbottom and Pilling. Robinson, after putting two runs to his credit, was bowled by Longbottom, and shortly afterwards Swanson was bowled by Pilling for five. Dnnkley succeeded Robinson, and by good free hitting added 11 to the score before his bails were scattered by Pilling, who was in good bowling form. Bowden, who followed Robinson, watt by this timegetting well set, and was faced by W. N. Ewing, who, however, retired without scoring, and G. P. Ewing took his place. At this period neither of the batsmen appeared to care about scoring, preferring to play a stonewalling game, as 5 o'clock was drawing near. When time was called Bowden and G. P. Ewing had 11 and three to their credit, respectively. In the evening the teams dined togethpr in the Public Hall, where an appetising repast was provided by Mr H. Buckland. Mr H. E. Cotton, captain of the Cambridge team, presided, and after the usual loyal toasts had been duly honoured, explained that on the following evening the dinner would take place, when the usual compliments would be exchanged. The remainder of the evening was devoted to harmony, songs being given by Messrs Moore, Robinson, Pilling, W. N. Ewing, Forrest, Dunkley, Steele and Johnson. The company separated at an early hour to prepare for the morrow's fray.
