WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL INJUSTICE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Your correspondent, " Waipa," in your ibsue of the 25th in&t., amongst many very curious statements, says :—": — " In fact the engineers to a great extent are the council, and on their reports in a great measure depend the amount of increased rate ratepayers will have to pay the council in the future. These gentlemen are doing fjir better than those who have to find the money for the council, and it is not to be wondered at if at times they are found to be apologists for the action of the council." Now, Sir, in reply to this we have to state that never yet have we had to apologise to anyone for any action taken by the Wai pa County Council. Our duty is to engineer the main ro.id*, and to that we endeavour to pay strict attention, leaving the councillors to do their own apologising when, or if, required. " Wai pa" harps a good deal on " Eool'h Day." Most certainly that would be the proper day for such a letter as his to have appeared in print. —We aie, <fee, Sandes and Napper, Engineers Wai pa C.C.
