Intention to Levy a Rate.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in confoimity with the provisions ot "The Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1832," and of "Tho Rating Act, 1852," the Piako County Council intend, at a special meeting to be held at Cambridge at «") p.m. on Wednesday, the 9th day of Apnl next, to MAKE A SPECIAL RATE ot one-tenth of a penny in the £ upon all lateahle value Mithin the Taotaoroa Riding ; such late to be an annually recuning rate, and payable in ten equal yeaily payments on the first day of March in each year, the first payment to be made on the fiist day of March, 1885. NOTICE is hereby given that in conformity with the provisions of " The ttoails and Bridges Construction Act, 1882." and of "The Rating Act, 1882," the Piako County Council intend, at a special meeting to be held at Cambridge, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the 9th day of April next, to MAKE A SPECIAL RATE of one-eightieth (1-80) of a penny in the £ upon all rateable property within the Waitoa riding ; such rate to be an annually recurring rate, and payable in ten equal yearly payments, on the first day of March in each year, the first payment to be made ou the first day of March, ISBS. VXT AIPA COUNTY. RATEPAYERS of the above county are hereby notified that, in terms of Section 12, Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882, the Waipa County Council have applied to the Government for a loan of £642 for the purpose of constructing certain portions of the main roads in the county, between Te Awamutu aud Kihikihi, at Kihikihi, Moanatuatua, Mangapiko, Hamilton, and Tuhikaramea. The amount of yearly payments (ten) to be made to the Government will be £16 osBd per annum, and the special rate required to meet them will be one one-hundred and-seventy-seventh of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of the district per annum.

Plans and particulars of works may be inspected at the office of the Waipa County Council, Ohaupo. To decide whether the County Council shall or shall not borrow the sum of £642 and undertake the works intended, a poll of the ratepayers will be taken at the County Council Chambers, Ohaupo, on Tuesday, the Ist April, 1884, commencing at 9 o'clock a.m., and closing at 6 p.m. N.
