INVERCARGILL, Saturday.

A young man named Geo. McOornidy, while shoeing a horse in A. Danlow'a blacksmith shop, was struck on the head by the animal, and his skull broken. The sufferer was picked up unconscious and removed to the Hospital, where the doctor is now engaged in removing a piece of bone from the wound. Monday. The boy McCornidy, who was injured by the kick of a horse, is not expected to recover. He is suffering from a comminuted fracture of the skull. A trepanning operation was performed, and several pieces of bone removed fiom the brain. The sufferer is unconscious, aud his right side is paralysed.
