CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday.
The New Zealand Shipping Company have received the following cablegram : — "London, Maich 17. Doiic d.-iived at Rio Janeiro, March 16, all well; refrigerator \\oiking splendidly, and meat in prime condition. British King sailed from Plymouth for Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton, Maich 15. Aoiangi will sail from Plymouth for Poit Chalmers and Lyttelton on March 29." Wednesday. An accident occurred to the Papanui train this afternoon. A tube in the boiler burst, and the engine dnvei was blown off on to the toad. ile w.is removed to the hospital, but it is believed he is not seriously injured. Miss Champness, a passenger, jumped off and seveiely injuied the base of her skull. She is now in an unconscious state.
