Sydney, March 18. The prisoner Willi un* has been found guilty of the murder of Elizabeth Phillip, the victim of the Woolloomooloo outiagc, and lias been sentenced to death. Rain has .fallen over a poition of the colony.
Melhockvu, March 18. R. B. Fletcher, mining manager, of Sandhurst, -who was '-ecently anested on a charge of embezzlement, h.is been committed for tii.il. The Hon. Graham Beiry, Postmas>terGeiieral,is now communicating with the Queensland Government, with the view of arrangements being made for the construction of a second overland telegraph line to Port Darwin fiom the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Hobart, March 18. The rifle match between the Invercargill rifle corps and a Tasmanian regiment resulted in a victory for the local men.
