Cairo, March 17. A detachment, numbering a thousand British troops, is about to start for Handak, a towu on the Nile, midway between Assouan, on the Nubian frontier, and Khartontn. The troops will fortify the position there, with a view to check any advance of tho rebels in that direction. Telegrams from Siiakim state that it has been aseertainprl that Osman Digna continues in active hostility to the British, and is endeavouring to reassemble his force of Arabs, with a view of renewing the contest. Telegraphic communication has been restored beWeen Shendv and Khartoum.
London, March 17. It is announced that the Britiah Government have expressed disapproval of the action of General Graham in placing a price on the head of Osman Digna.
