For the widow and family of John Campbell, who was killed about five weeks ago by the bursting of a grindstone at Buchanans Foundry, £276 have been collected, and it 13 expected that the sum will reach £300. Monday. St. Patrick's Day was celebrated tonight by a dinner at the Catholic I^fery Society's rooms, and a concert at the Theatre Royal. 2741 rams and 376 ewes have been entered for the fair on Thursday. A meeting of Canterbury members of Parliament has been called for Friday next, to consider the best means of stayin er the new railway tariff. Two candidates to pass as solicitor? were examined to-day by Mesars Westonr and Allen Holmes.
