(Received March 17th, 1.10 a.m.) Adelaide, March 15. The cricket match Australian Eleven v. fifteen of South Australia was resumed to-day heie, when the Australians continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 265. The following are the scores :— Bannerman, c, 33 ; McDonnell, c, 22 ; Murdoch, b, 0 ; Giflen, b, 36 ; Midwinter, c, 2."> ; Blackhatn, b, 14; Alexander, c, 60 ; Scott, not out, 38 ; Cooper, c, 3 ; Boyle, b, 19 ; extras, 7. The home team, in their second innings, put together a total of 139. The Australians then commenced their second innings, and when play was stopped had scored 112 without losing any wickets. Bannerman 34 and Bonnor 73, being both not out; extras, o: total, 112. Ihe match was drawn, and the Australians subsequently sailed for England by the steamer Sutlej.
[Received March 17th, 1.10 a.m.] Sydney, March 15. Arrived, this evening : The P.M. s.s. City of Sydney, from San Francisco, via Auckland. Hanlan was accorded an enthusiastic reception on the arrival of the City of Sydney, by which he Mas a passenger. As yet he lias not arranged for any matches with Australian oarsmen, and intends to gi\e rowing exhibitions throughout the colonies. Hanlan will visit New Zealand on return, and will give similar exhibitions at various places.
(Received March 17tl), 1 p.m.) Sydney, Monday. A destructive fire occurred last night at Boutlnvick's oil warehouse, Georgestreet. The insurances on the property amount to £16,000. A boat containing passengers from the steamship City of Sydney yesterday was cut in two by the steamer Emu. The ocui pants of the boat had a miraculous escape.
