Pillow, a well-known commission agent, has disappeared. Yesterday his daughter called on the landlord of his office ami gave up possession, stating that her father had left Christchnrch without saying where he was goingIn the R M. Court a bee-keeper wa^' sued for 10s damages for trespass in follawing a swarm of bees on to plaintiffs premises. The Bench gave judgment for defendant and remarked that the plaintiffs refusal to allow defendant to take his swarm was uuneighbourly. At the annual meetiug of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-night, Mr T. Bruce was elected Piesident. The income for the past year, including £301 carried forward from last j ear, was £3060. The expenditure leaves a credit balance of £23 15s. At present there are 337 members, evclusi\e of 130 life members. In answer to a question, Mr Bruce said that when speaking at the lunch at the November show he had no intention to cast a slur on Otago exhibitors. Friday. TVIr Ford states that he has discovered a copper lode 16 feet thick near the White ClilF railway station in th£ Malvern district. The copper was c™ posed by a landslip. It is understood that Mr J. Wilson, M.11.R. for Kaiapoi, will resign his seat this mouth, and that Sir W. Fox will be. asked to become a candidate. Over 2000 entries have been received for the foi thcoming ram and ewe fair. Mrs Royal is still at the hospital. She will be charged with wilful murder this morning at the R.M. Court. The inquest on the children is to be held to-morrow. . Mr Ollhier, R.M., gave judgment today against Daniel Talvey for having failed to qualify himself as an efficient volunteer; 30s capitation, 203 for neglect of parade, and costs.
