WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Thu above council held an ordinary meeting .it the chamber Ohaupo on Tuesday March 11th 1884. Piesent: — Councillors, Lake (Chauman) Atkinson, Tisdall, Lang, Germann and Teasdale. Wmpa Bian»B-s.— The P.W. office wrote adw-ang the council to borrow money under Ro.ids and Budges Construction Aft, in conjunction with Raglan. The cleik was directed to reply that Raglan would not co-operate, hence the prcstnt dead-lock. Couoxiu. Road :— The P.W, office write offtfiing A.C. labour at one shilling 1 pei diem per man. The council declined the offer, not having any power to spend rates m a colonial load. Nnwc\hrr,K Main- Road :— The P.W. oltice wiote defining the course of thu> load. The clerk was. ouleied to notify the Government that their definition of the route was accepted via Whatrvvhatihoe Bi idsre. WHALAWHArA-HAMIJ/TOXMUN RoAO :— The Hamilton Boaid Mipplied the council with excerpt of minutes of ti meeting wheioat Mi Jolly was present, when the rj.id was decided on, and Mr Jolly gave the land. Theclosk was ordeied to send a copy to Mi Jolly. Nr.AumwuiiA Mu\ Road.— Or Gerniann moved, and Cr. Lake seconded, " That the council undertake to make no footpaths in any of the town->hip<-." Can led. The engineer was directed to effect necessary repans.
